The US Economic Development Administration (EDA) has designated the UIC Voorhees Center a university center, making a five-year investment beginning October 1, 2016, to help promote economic development in the Chicago Region. The EDA University Center @ UIC joins more than 40 university centers across the nation.

The EDA University Center @ UIC promotes green economic development through strategic community driven services that expand forward looking eco-friendly businesses and develop a highly skilled workforce talent pool that is prepared for these opportunities.
